About Me

Hello my name is Adam Petras and I am a graphic designer specializing in illustration and typography. I always have been interested in the art world and the processes that encompass it. I've been drawing since I was around three or four so lets just say that it has been with me since I could walk and talk. And now 18 years later and I'm still going and loving every minute of it. I manage to find art or design in mostly every part of my life and I wouldn't or couldn't have it any other way.

I graduated from Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA and went to Robert Morris University where I knew I wanted to take my skills to the next level and start to find myself as an artist and designer. There I began my formal development as an artist and everyday brings something new that moves me forward. I have such an incredible passion for design that I never get bored or turn down a challenge.  I continue to push myself and help others in this world to create wonderful things.  

I was asked my final semester of college to create an artist statement that summarized who I am as an artist.....what I'm all about regarding design and how I feel and live as an artist. So here it is: 

Inspiration refers to an unconscious burst of creativity in any way shape or form, and that is my ultimate goal with my design and in life. I want others to get that pure feeling of inspiration and then use that feeling to create, teach, or even love. Without inspiration I would not be the designer or person that I am today and hope to be in the future."

With that in mind I want to excel in what I love and sometimes get lost in it, knowing full well it's my passion; I just know that I will keep moving forward. Taking new challenges and inspiring myself will hopefully inspire others and give them the momentum to do what they love in life.
